Does Lutron Caséta need Wi-Fi to work?
No. Caséta runs on Lutron's own Clear Connect radio, not your Wi-Fi. The Smart Hub plugs into your router, but control between the hub and your dimmers, switches and remotes stays local — so your lights keep working even if the internet is down.
How many devices can one Caséta hub control?
A single Caséta Smart Hub supports up to 75 Caséta devices — dimmers, switches, fan controls, Pico remotes, sensors and Serena shades — so you can start with one room and grow to the whole home.
Do smart dimmers actually save energy?
Yes. Per Lutron, every dimmer saves roughly 4–9% in electricity versus a standard on/off switch — even at full brightness — and automated controls can cut lighting energy by up to 60%. Does Caséta work with Alexa, Google Home and Apple Home?
Yes. Caséta works with Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Apple Home (Siri), plus popular smart speakers, thermostats and locks — for voice control and automations across your home.
Can I add smart lighting without rewiring my house?
Usually, yes. Caséta dimmers and switches retrofit onto existing wiring, and wireless Pico remotes add three-way control anywhere with no new wire or drywall work. Many Caséta dimmers also install without a neutral wire.
How does smart lighting fit into home electrification?
