Before you make that call to a local electrical repair company, there are a few things you should be looking for. Know their core values as a company, do they guarantee their work and make sure their technicians are licensed and bonded. Just knowing these three elements can give you peace of mind and save you a lot of problems.
Do They Care?
Check out the company. Read their reviews and core values. Why are they in business and what’s their mission? I know these items may sound like preferences, but at the end of the day, you should feel solid about the company that is accessing and working on your home. Even if the company is good but they make a mistake, will they fix it or make retribution?
The Only Guarantee Is In A Company’s Ethics
I have heard of companies that profess to guarantee their work but when it comes down to it, they have stipulations on how to cash in on that guarantee and at times the customer is left with faulty work. Then there are those companies who guarantee nothing and pretty much live up to that promise. A good company is one whose values are focused on their work and their customer’s satisfaction. Know the company you hire and what they value.
Licensing
This should be a no-brainer but some people want to cut corners because they believe they will save some money by having a tech with no licensing or bonding to do a job. You may save money at the moment but if that work is not up to code or unsafe, you could be spending a whole lot more to repair it. Keep in mind for certain repairs it is required to obtain a permit to do work. Will your electrician be sure to get all the permits necessary? Make sure your company is licensed, bonded, and insured. It doesn’t hurt ask to see their electrical license too.
Knowing the company you hire to work on your home can bring peace of mind and save you a lot of money in the long run. Take your time to understand their values, read their reviews, and know they have the right licensing.
